Our NH ATV blog. Trail riding New Hampshire & New England. Trips, stories & garage-wrenchin'. Always adding new content!
Well, it's been a while! Things change, like seasons. Been riding a little bit, and collecting guns & ammo. It's been a fairly mild Summer. Still haven't even put in the A/C! No real scorching, hot, humid days to speak of really. Anyway, my latest project is this Palmetto State Armory 9mm Dagger compact, with battle-worn American flag. I was feeling patriotic, and just had to have one. ???? I should have just bought the complete pistol so I got the carrying case/bag etc, but ended-up going with a blem receiver (shoulda been $49, but they charged me $59, same…

Holy shitbats! Another trailwarriors.net Coos County jaunt...and what a beautiful day it was for an ATV ride! September up in Coos County, NH surely equals some cooler air for trail riding, and that's exactly what we got. What a great weekend to cruise. There was quite a bit of traffic on the Ride The Wilds NH network, and it was awesome to see so many folks out qaud'n-around and enjoying Coos County in all its splendid beauty. TIT! UPDATE 10.27.2022: Still working without the power computer....doin' what we can in the meantime, and STILL havin' fun!! 🥲

Check 'em out, man. 2023 Polaris Sportsman recreational / utility ATV goodies. Yayyyyyy! A little late on this one, but looks like some new colors available on the 450HO, 570 & 850 models, as well as some new CV-guards for the 570 EPS & Premium models. The Sportsman 450HO & 570 models also include a redesigned rear rack extender, which will allow the rider to pack more and be able to anchor it down more securely. The Orange Rust color is always something I look at it, and I believe this particular finish is a non-metallic Orange Rust. Either way,…
What a BEAUTIFUL Summer Sunday morning for an ATV cruise! Wow, guys, cruisin' down thee ol' Worcester, Nashua & Rochester Railroad is super fun, nostalgic and very relaxing, especially on such a perfect morning. Excellent for the Soul!! This abandoned rail line would ultimately become part of the Boston & Maine Railroad, aka "The Mighty, Mighty B&M". Railed service on this particular line ceased in 1932, when the Boston & Maine closed to large sections, one from Hudson to Fremont, NH, and the other from Epping to Gonic, NH. Starting at approximately 10am, we rode for about 2.5 hours from…

Hell yeah, boys 'n gals! Pictures of the new 2023 Yamaha Grizzly 700 models have been released. So, what'cha think? Diggin' the new colors and graphics? The new dark blue color scheme looks great in the photos. It seems darker than the "Backcountry Blue" that we're used to, and really pops with the new machined-look parts of the wheels. I likey! But can't wait to see it in person. As you may have already guessed,...not many changes again this year to the Grizzly 700. At this point, we can only assume that Yamaha is deep in the bunker working on…
I think I might like the 12" System 3 ST-6 wheel and would consider replacing the stock Yamaha wheels on my Grizzly....which, has never happened yet because I just can't find the right lookin' wheel, or at least an aftermarket wheel that looks better than the stock wheel in my eyes and will actually fit my quad. Then, if I do find a design I can look at...it's not available in the size I need. WHAT?! I can't find a nice lookin' wheel, that isn't black, in 14x7 4/110 fitment? How about the right offset? Do I have to go…

We made it! Rose up at 3am to get a head-start on things and made good time to Berlin, NH. Parked at Jericho Outdoors as the Sun was rising. On the bikes approx. 6am and started the longest ATV cruise we have ever done! This trip was full of all types of ATV trails, except heavy mudding, which is a good thing considering the heat and humidity, and the variety of trails and things to see along the way makes your head spin! The small towns and villages, the campers, trailers, camps and houses set back off a random, lonely…

Quite possibly one of the most beautiful weekends ever! Wow!! Every day the weather was gorgeous, hot in the sun, not too humid...just right for some ATV trail rides and a dip in the pool. We made it the furthest east on the quads that we have been yet. Bridges are holding. Trail is opening up. Summer is good! More updates coming ASAP, including a trip up North to Ride The Wilds NH, and some more high quality photos and 4K 60fps video of New Hampshire ATV trail riding. Could also be some suspension upgrades coming in the near future.…

A perfect Summer Sunday for a little trail clean-up and bridge repair. Chicken 'n ribs, too! The ATV trail out back hadn't seen us since the winter and it needed some attention. The two bridges were in disrepair, and the trail was grown-in somewhat. It was time to bushwhack. A little while later we were back on it and clearing brush, matting down the foliage, and reaching an ol' favorite spot on a pond just a stones throw from the hut. Teddy Pup came along for a cruise, too! And those "Shotgun Shells" were A+++! #BACON Instagram: @trailwarriors.life @the.real.sportsman @yamayahoo77…

Rockingham County Recreational Rail Trail cruise
Written by @Yamayahoo77
Hit up the Rockingham Recreational Rail Trail today with @the.real.sportsman! What a beautiful evening for an ATV cruise. Thee ol' railbed looks to be in great shape from what we could tell. An excellent ride with fairly smooth trail ridin' all the way through! BIGups to NH ATV Club for everything they do for these New Hampshire trails. It's simply amazing to still have access and be able to ride a quad in our home county, Rockingham. There is so much over-development around us it's scary! Several times during the cruise from Fremont, NH to Derry, NH and back to…

NGK Iridium ix spark plug from JapanSparkPlugs.com!
Written by @Yamayahoo77
You know those spark plugs ya just can't seem to find anywhere local,... or even in the good ol' USA? Well, here's another one. Thank God for Japan Spark Plugs! After looking high-and-low for a colder 9-series NGK Iridium plug, I finally gave up and decided to go the international route. Sometimes you just got to accept that there are NONE for sale in America. It didn't take too long to arrive, a bit quicker than anticipated due to the tracking number from Taiwan being updated slowly. I think it was about 10 days to get to me. Not to…

No place to affix your registration sticker? Try one of these Honeycomb cereal-style mini license plates for bicycles! I didn't like any of spots on my Grizzly for mounting my sticker, so I had to in to MacGyver-mode and came up with this solution... 1. Bicycle license plates. 2. Plasti-Dip. (black) 3. Zip-ties. You can find these mini license plates online, and I found these on one of the first web sites I searched for using Google. Logos on the plate won't matter because we will be Plasti-Dipping (or spray-painting) the plates. I chose black Plasti-Dip. An initial spritz on…

Well, the first trip to Hopkinton-Everett OHRV Trail System was nothing less than 100% fun and testing the quads was a total success! Shoutout to @the.real.sportsman for making it happen! On arrival the parking lot was empty, the day was beautiful, and the bikes ran strong! There was plenty of nature to be absorbed and we were even fortunate enough to spot some deer. The @yamayahoo77 Grizzly is passing all tests with flying colors. I really couldn't be happier with the results from the mods, including EHS Racing EFI controller, EHS Racing air intake upgrade/modification, EHS Racing airbox lid and…

2019 Yamaha Grizzly 700 SE KFI Tiger Tail install
Written by @Yamayahoo77
The KFI TigerTail is here! Yayyy!! Ok, so we got the mount, the TigerTail and the ball-hitch adapter. Wow! Let's just say.....HIGH QUALITY. Everything arrived from KFI Products quickly and safely, with no damage and no B.S. After inspection and readying some tools, the install was a breeze. Because I decided to go a little "tighter" in, up-against the rear storage box, some extra elbow-grease was necessary to make the pin slide through. The TigerTail was originally mounted differently, with 4 bolts on the mounting plate, but this lowered the hitch ball a bit too far, so the install was…

So the HMF programmer that came on the bike had to go. It was running too lean and not set-up properly. I wasn't willing to risk damage to such a fine motor and lose value in it. I'd prefer to have the motor run better than stock and perhaps preserve its durability and longevity as a properly running engine. Eric @ EHS Racing has been nothing but excellent during this seemingly never-ending project, and I believe we finally have a properly running 2019 Yamaha Grizzly 700 Special Edition. I moved to the EHS Racing EFI Programmer, Barker's Performance slip-on exhaust…

'19 Yamaha Grizzly 700 EHS Racing air intake modification
Written by @Yamayahoo77
EHS Racing air intake mod complete. YES!! I was finally able to pick up the necessary parts to start making my Yamaha Grizzly 700 run as it should, keep dirt and fine dust out of the engine, and remedy the "running lean" condition these ATVs are known to exhibit from the factory. The EHS Racing "air intake modification" consists of a new positive-clamp aluminum intake piece by EHS, that allows a much tighter seal between air intake and air filter. This really cuts down on the potential for dust to get in to the motor, especially that fine dust that…

Rock lights? Really?? YES! Git'n old, man. So here's another one of my "smart-ideas" lol. LED Rock Lights on the Grizz.....for lighting around the wheels under low-light conditions. Yes, they work. So they definitely aren't just for flash. These LED light pods up in the wheel-wells help me. Buuut, I did want that one LED light strip up in the hood scoop, for that "Knight Rider" feel. We did manage to get it done, but unfortunately the kit I bought on eBay doesn't have the LED "chase" option. I have only solid colors. But still neat nonetheless, and getting inside…

Holy shitbats!! So my nephew got a freebie and we both have some really good heated grips and a heated thumb throttle. Picked up my 2019 Yamaha Grizzly 700 Special Edition
Written by @Yamayahoo77
The first time I saw my '19 Grizzly 700 in real life!! Well, after a 2 hour drive in the uHaul box truck, I found my dream bike and was able to come to deal and make it happen. Had to drive to Connecticut for her! I am feeling like I don't even want to mention the dealer down there, due to lack of positive experience, maybe it's better to just omit it. Sometimes I wonder how a cash-paying customer can be so over-looked...it felt like a lot of people were hanging around on the phones and not showing much…
