Rockingham Recreation Trail ATV cruise pt 2

Rockingham Recreation Trail ATV Cruise 08.28.2022 What a BEAUTIFUL Summer Sunday morning for an ATV cruise!

Wow, guys, cruisin' down thee ol' Worcester, Nashua & Rochester Railroad is super fun, nostalgic and very relaxing, especially on such a perfect morning. Excellent for the Soul!!

This abandoned rail line would ultimately become part of the Boston & Maine Railroad, aka "The Mighty, Mighty B&M". Railed service on this particular line ceased in 1932, when the Boston & Maine closed to large sections, one from Hudson to Fremont, NH, and the other from Epping to Gonic, NH.

Starting at approximately 10am, we rode for about 2.5 hours from Fremont to Derry and back. There are a few places to stop and relax along the way, and there is great scenery to be had, including wetlands. It brings a sense of calm and balance after a long week. An underrated ride.

If you haven't been out, or are hesitant about riding this particular rail trail, I would recommend checking it out and enjoying it while you can. We never know when what little trails we still have will be snatched away from us!

 GET OUT THERE!!! :D

NH Ride The Wilds ATV cruise

NH Ride the Wilds ATV trail system map We made it! Rose up at 3am to get a head-start on things and made good time to Berlin, NH. Parked at Jericho Outdoors as the Sun was rising. On the bikes approx. 6am and started the longest ATV cruise we have ever done!

This trip was full of all types of ATV trails, except heavy mudding, which is a good thing considering the heat and humidity, and the variety of trails and things to see along the way makes your head spin! The small towns and villages, the campers, trailers, camps and houses set back off a random, lonely dirt road...you can "feel" the energy of it. It made me want live it for a year or something, be an ol' homestead'r there in Stark, or West Milan, or maybe up in Dixville Notch or something. Wow!

I also noticed some of the older folks living along the ATV-shared roads, the dirt roads anyway, won't even bat-an-eye at the sound or site of an ATV cruisin' by. Nope, lol, one older gentleman working outside his garage door didn't even look up from what he was doing when we drove by. At that time I really tried to imagine what he was doing, how long he had lived there, and how life would be if it were me there, sitting outside and working on something or enjoying a hobby.

 Let's go for a ride!!
