EHS Racing EFI Programmer & Barker's Exhaust!
So the HMF programmer that came on the bike had to go. It was running too lean and not set-up properly. I wasn't willing to risk damage to such a fine motor and lose value in it. I'd prefer to have the motor run better than stock and perhaps preserve its durability and longevity as a properly running engine.
Eric @ EHS Racing has been nothing but excellent during this seemingly never-ending project, and I believe we finally have a properly running 2019 Yamaha Grizzly 700 Special Edition. I moved to the EHS Racing EFI Programmer, Barker's Performance slip-on exhaust w/ Quietcore installed, and these upgrades along with the already-completed EHS Racing air intake modification, my bike is simply SUPERIOR to what it was before! THANK YOU EHS RACING!!!
Everything about my bike is improved...from idling to throttle feel & response, no "mushy" start to the thumb throttle, just a nice linear consistent feeling "all-the-way-thru", more power, more "GRRRRR", more everything. Did I mention no more backfiring / popping on deceleration? Wow, just drastically cut down on the pop, and now it only happens very rarely. I also did the AIS-block.

'19 Yamaha Grizzly 700 EHS Racing air intake modification
EHS Racing air intake mod complete. YES!! I was finally able to pick up the necessary parts to start making my Yamaha Grizzly 700 run as it should, keep dirt and fine dust out of the engine, and remedy the "running lean" condition these ATVs are known to exhibit from the factory.
The EHS Racing "air intake modification" consists of a new positive-clamp aluminum intake piece by EHS, that allows a much tighter seal between air intake and air filter. This really cuts down on the potential for dust to get in to the motor, especially that fine dust that us trail riders sometimes have to run through. I feel much more confident about my air intake & filter system now and believe it is a TRUE improvement over stock.
This modification is highly recommended for Yamaha Grizzly and Yamaha Kodiak owners (as well as other major brands) who wish to improve on Yamaha's air intake design, and help to better prevent dirt and dust from entering the motor. This works, period.
Don't believe us? Just search Youtube for EHS Racing and some Yamaha related videos on there...Eric knows what he is talking about, has a dyno, shows the math, and you are left with a better-than-stock running ATV, and a huge smile on your face as you experience the measurable before-and-after difference of these particular modifications and upgrades to your machine.
I went with a K&N Filter this time around as I will not be submerging my bike or pushing the limits of its water-resistance. If the circumstances require it, I will move back over to the UNI-type ATV air filter as I had with the stock set-up.
