So the HMF programmer that came on the bike had to go. It was running too lean and not set-up properly. I wasn't willing to risk damage to such a fine motor and lose value in it. I'd prefer to have the motor run better than stock and perhaps preserve its durability and longevity as a properly running engine...
Eric @ EHS Racing has been nothing but excellent during this seemingly never-ending project, and I believe we finally have a properly running 2019 Yamaha Grizzly 700 Special Edition. I moved to the EHS Racing EFI Controller (tuner), Barker's Performance slip-on exhaust, and the EHS Racing air box mod, etc.
I also added the EHS Racing Airbox Cover, with blue aluminum plate.
Check-out this article for more info and pics on the EHS Racing airbox modification, airbox cover/Outerwears pre-filter, K&N conical air filter, etc.
I lost a lot of my articles during migration to this new web site, but will be reuploading photos/videos, and editing & updating these articles actively, when necessary.
UPDATE Summer 2025: It's August 10th now, and my Grizzly 700 SE is running just as excellent when I originally tuned it and added the colder spark plug, back in 2022. Feels great to be back on the trails after two seasons off, and the bike is treating me well. Love the way the EHS Tuner makes the throttle response and feel throughout its range. I wouldn't change a thing!
